youth, overseeing the youth programs, planning and facilitating revivals,
counseling students and parents, and organizing and presiding over
youth retreats.

On July 11, 2004, he was ordained by Rev. Dr. John M Borders III, Pastor

On September 24, 2007, Rev. Fernandes made history at St. John
Missionary Baptist Church, when the church elected him as their next

The vision God has given Rev. Fernandes involves bringing St. John to a
21st century ministry with traditional Christian values, by following the
direction of the Holy Spirit, and staying committed to preaching and
teaching the Bible, baptizing believers and developing disciples for
worldwide ministry.  Together, the church will pursue excellence in worship,
in work, and in our Christian witness with authority and power until Jesus
Christ returns.

As a servant of the Most High God, Rev. Fernandes lives with the
understanding that he is nothing, and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is
everything.  He is Spirit filled.  He loves the Lord and without question, he
knows he is called to shepherd God’s people. It is his heart's desire to
fulfill the undeniable calling on his life, while walking in humility and in
the confidence of God’s grace and anointing upon his life.  He knows that
it is by the grace of God that he is who he is today.  He believes that his
prayers have truly been answered by God affording him the privilege of
serving the church in Pastoral Ministry.

Here, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, God will enable him to utilize
all of the magnificent gifts and talents He has given him, to use the
awesome gifts and talents of his congregation, as he works in unity with
the saints to see God's vision manifested, thus fulfilling the true calling
and destiny of this remarkable ministry.
